We are a volunteer society.
We are a federally and provincially registered non-profit society (click here for a link to our constitution) with the facility to issue tax receipts for donations.
We have an executive and board of directors (as required by the Societies Act).
The Executive and Board of Directors is elected annually at the Trails Society’s annual general meeting. Members of the Board of Directors from Spring 2017 to Spring 2018 are:
Jim Gracey, Vic Drought, Shawn Gosnell, Matt Parker, Carl Halvorson, Heather Evans, Jennifer Adams, John Harvey, Candy Rustad
President – Matt Parker
Vice President – John Harvey
Treasurer – Jim Gracie
Secretary – Carl Halvorson
Membership – Heather Evans
Website - Jennifer Adams
Brushback Brigade – Vic Drought, with many dedicated BBB-ers!
Squamish Trails Society receives much of its funding from a few key sources:
o Become a member and show your commitment to Squamish Trails!
o Membership helps us out financially
o And strong membership numbers means your voice is heard on important trail issues.
o The Squamish Trails Society also receives (through its charitable status) donations and contributions from organizations and individuals. Thank you! (link to donation link)
o In the past STS has received grant funding from the District of Squamish. Currently there is no formal annual arrangement for such.
o We do seek grant funding from governments on a project-by-project basis
The Society very often partners with developers and business organizations to fund projects as well.
